Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of bike do I need for the Limestone 55.5?

As this is a singlespeed gravel championship, you must bring a bike with only one gear ratio. We recommend a gravel or cyclocross bike with at least 38mm tires to handle the loose limestone surfaces, though many riders prefer even wider tires for extra comfort and traction.

Is the course suitable for riders of all skill levels?

The course is designed to be an adventurous challenge for everyone, but the single-gear requirement adds a unique physical test. While the route is inclusive and welcoming to all, riders should be prepared for the rolling terrain of Iowa and comfortable navigating mixed-surface gravel roads.

Will there be support available on the course?

Absolutely! We will have well-stocked aid stations along the route to keep you fueled and hydrated. Please check the event website for the latest details on station locations and what supplies will be provided.

What is the post-ride atmosphere like?

The post-ride celebration is the heart of the Limestone 55.5 experience! Expect a vibrant community gathering where you can share stories from the road, enjoy local refreshments, and celebrate your accomplishment with fellow singlespeed enthusiasts.
