Riders should expect a spirited pace in the lead groups, making it an excellent opportunity to test your fitness against a diverse field of central Alabama cyclists.

Are there specific race categories or podium ceremonies?

What should I expect regarding the course terrain and technical demands?

The course through the Montgomery area features rolling terrain that rewards riders who can maintain momentum over short, punchy climbs. Expect a mix of open road sections and technical segments that require sharp bike handling skills, especially when riding in a large, fast-moving pack.

Is there a sprint section or competitive segments during the ride?

While there are no official timed sprint points, the nature of the course often leads to natural "hot spots" where the pace increases significantly. Riders looking for a competitive edge should be prepared for high-wattage efforts on the climbs and tactical positioning during group transitions.

Where is the best place for spectators to watch the action?

Spectators are encouraged to congregate near the start and finish lines to cheer on the riders as they head out and return. For the best viewing experience along the route, check the event website for the latest course maps and designated support zones where you can safely observe the field.

What is the expected field size and group riding etiquette?

We host a significant number of cyclists annually, making group riding skills essential for a safe and efficient experience. We strongly encourage all participants to maintain a steady line, communicate clearly with hand signals, and respect the pace of those around them to ensure a smooth ride for everyone.
