What are the trail conditions and technical features like in Hudson?

Riders can expect classic Midwest singletrack featuring a mix of fast-rolling flow, tight wooded turns, and punchy climbs. The course utilizes the local trail system's best features, including root-dense descents and technical creek crossings that will test your handling skills.

What type of mountain bike is recommended for this course?

A cross-country (XC) or short-travel trail bike is the ideal weapon for this terrain. While a hardtail is efficient for the elevation profile, a full-suspension rig will provide extra confidence and traction over the relentless roots found throughout the woods.

The start-finish area provides high-energy vibes, but there are several designated spectator zones accessible via a short hike. These spots allow fans to see riders tackle technical features and high-speed sections deep in the forest.

What should I bring for race day logistics?

Beyond your bike and helmet, bring plenty of hydration, spare tubes, and a multi-tool for on-trail repairs. Parking is available near the trailhead, but we recommend arriving early on Saturday to secure a spot and complete your check-in.

How does the event handle inclement weather or muddy trails?

We monitor trail conditions closely to ensure rider safety and trail sustainability. While we embrace the "Mud" in our name, extreme weather may result in course adjustments or delays - please check the event website for the latest updates on race morning.
