Course Description

The Piru course is legendary among Southern California cyclists for its fast flats and potential for challenging wind conditions. This 20-kilometer route is designed to reward both raw power and aerodynamic efficiency. The layout provides a fair test of fitness with minimal technical turns, allowing riders to stay in their extensions and maintain maximum velocity.

Course Name	Distance	Elevation Profile
20K Time Trial Loop	20 Kilometers	Flat to rolling terrain with a technical turnaround; optimized for high-speed aero performance.

The course typically follows a fast out-and-back trajectory through the citrus groves of the Heritage Valley. Riders should prepare for a mid-point turnaround that requires precise bike handling and quick acceleration to get back up to race speed. While the elevation gain is minimal, the exposed nature of the course means that pacing against the coastal wind is often the deciding factor in the final standings.
