About This Event

There is a formula to the creation of each new Belgian Waffle Ride - the largest gravel series in the world. The BWR AZ, which will take place in Cave Creek, Arizona, on the fringes of the Valley of the Sun, embodies the three ingredients that make the BWR so special. 1) A dream destination, 2) varied terrain to accommodate an extremely dynamic racecourse, and 3) a cycling community that is both vibrant and desirous of the Unroad experience only the BWR can offer.

Race Categories & Distances

Riders choose their "desert punishment" across three primary distances, featuring a high percentage of "unroad" terrain:

Waffle	103 miles (166 km)	~7,500 ft	The "Full Waffle" experience; 58% unroad with 5 feed zones.
Wafer	68 miles (110 km)	~4,000 ft	A mid-distance challenge; 53% unroad with 4 feed zones.
Wanna	33 miles (53 km)	~3,500 ft	An entry-level "Party on 2 Wheels"; 25% unroad with 2 feed zones.

Specialized categories are available, including Single Speed Masochists, Tandem, E-Bike (Wafer/Wanna only), and the MTB "Lentz is More" category (minimum 2.1" tires).

What’s Included

Registration typically costs between $50 (Juniors) and $195 and includes:

BWR Musette Swag Bag: Contains sponsor gear, a race number with RFID tag, and "BWR Bucks" for use at the expo.
Signature Fuel: Pre-race waffles and coffee, fully stocked desert feed zones, and post-race Belgian waffles with beverages.
The Reward: A custom Finisher's Trophy Beer, podium recognition for top age-group finishers, and points toward the Quad-Tripel Crown series prize purse.
