This USA Cycling-sanctioned event is designed to test your early-season fitness with fast-paced, high-stakes racing on one of NYC’s most iconic loops. Whether you are aiming for series points, category upgrades, or that crucial season-opening win, the Icebreaker is where New York City racing kicks off.

Course Profile: Prospect Park 3.4-Mile Loop

The race utilizes the classic Prospect Park loop, a 3.4-mile circuit featuring rolling hills, technical turns, and a high-speed finish. The course is closed to vehicles, but open to pedestrians and cyclists (jogger's lane is strictly off-limits).

Key Technical Area Technical corners near the Grand Army Plaza entrance.
Climbing Rolling hills (highest point around Grand Army Plaza, lowest near Lakeside).
Finish Stretch Gradual uphill finish on West Drive.
Restrictions NO entry into the joggers' lane (marked with double white lines). Immediate DQ enforced.
 

Rules & Important Notes

  • Numbers: Pinned on the RIGHT side of the jersey and on the seatpost.
  • Safety: Approved helmet required. NO headphones.
  • Behavior: Unsportsmanlike conduct or disrespect to pedestrians/marshals results in immediate disqualification.
  • Directions: Enter the park at Grand Army Plaza and ride to the 3rd Street start line.
