About This Event

Prepare yourself for the hardest pound-for-pound spring classic in the Midwest. Nestled in the heart of Ohio’s historic coal region, the Coal Country Roubaix (CCR) is not a gravel road ride; it is an Appalachian endurance challenge designed to test your grit, gear, and climbing legs. With 75% of the course on unpaved surfaces, we offer over 100 feet of climbing per mile. As we like to say, if it’s not 100ft per mile, it’s flat!

The Course: Appalachian Grit

The Vibe: Remote, raw country roads in Columbiana County featuring steep, punchy climbs, technical gravel downhills, and incredible views.
The Twist: All courses have been redesigned to run in REVERSE, tackling the Appalachian terrain from a new, tougher perspective.
The Initial Ascent: Immediately following the neutral start, prepare for a rude awakening with 200ft+ of climbing in the first half-mile, followed by 400+ ft in the next 2.5 miles.
Four Distances (100% Epic):
- 300 Mile: 35K+ feet of climbing (More than Mount Everest!).
- 100 Mile: 13K+ feet of climbing.
- 100K: 8,000+ feet of climbing.
- 50K-ish (35 Miles): 4,700+ feet of climbing.

"Dis Ain't Kansas" Terrain: This is a, rugged, Appalachian gravel grinder designed for those who love to suffer.
Unpredictable Weather: Could be dry and fast, could be a total mud-fest, or even snow.
Belt Buckles: 100-mile and 300-mile finishers earn a custom belt buckle.
Community & Atmosphere: Enjoy the passionate, small-town hospitality of Lisbon, OH, with a finish-line festival atmosphere.
Neutral Start: 9 AM sharp, with a police escort out of town.
All Bikes Welcome: Gravel, Cyclocross, Mountain, Single-speed, Fixed, Fat bikes, E-bikes, and Tandems are encouraged.
NEW! Kids Race: We are adding a free kids race at the fairgrounds.

Navigation: The course is NOT marked. You are responsible for your own GPS navigation.
Surface: Roughly 75% unpaved (gravel/dirt).
SAG: A sag vehicle will be on course for emergencies.
