About This Event
This is a great route to rack up your ultracycling miles. Ride virtually flat, low traffic roads while you ride the 30 mile loop during the day. The 30-mile route will go from New Ebenezer Retreat Center to the sleepy little town of Clyo and back. With hardly any trucks and low traffic you will enjoy the peace and serenity of South Georgia during the last weeks of summer. For the 24-hour riders, there is a 6-mile night loop so you will only be at a max 3 miles from the start-finish at any point. It also loops from the New Ebenezer Retreat Center to a large traffic circle and back to a nice 3-lane wide dead-end for 2 easy turns. There will be a 100-mile, 6-hour, 12-hour and 24-hour, & a 500-mile event complete with gender , 5-year age groups, and all bike type categories. As well as solo, and 2x-8x teams.

Frequently Asked Questions

What distance options are available at the Georgia TT Endurance Challenge?

The event offers five distance categories to suit different endurance goals: 100-Mile, 6-Hour, 12-Hour, 24-Hour, and 500-Mile events. You can compete as a solo rider or join a team (2x through 8x teams available), with categories organized by gender and 5-year age groups across all bike types.

Can I tell you more about the course profile?

The Georgia TT Endurance Challenge features virtually flat terrain on low-traffic, truck-free roads through rural South Georgia. The main 30-mile loop departs from New Ebenezer Retreat Center, extends to the town of Clyo, and returns via peaceful routes. For 24-hour competitors, a dedicated 6-mile night loop keeps you within 3 miles of start-finish, eliminating navigation stress during extended efforts.

Is this event suitable for first-time endurance riders?

Yes—the flat, low-traffic course design makes it accessible for riders building endurance miles, while the time-trial format allows you to ride at your own pace. Start with the 100-Mile or 6-Hour format to gauge your capabilities, then progress to longer events as your ultracycling fitness develops.

What should I know about the start intervals and timing technology?

As a time-trial endurance event, individual start times and accurate lap tracking are critical to your performance. For specific details on staggered start intervals, timing chip procedures, and how your individual effort will be recorded, check the event website or contact the organizers directly.

Are there any equipment restrictions or recommendations?

The event welcomes all bike types and categories, so road bikes, gravel bikes, and other setups are permitted. For extended endurance riding in South Georgia's late-summer conditions, ensure your bike is well-maintained, bring adequate hydration and nutrition support, and verify any specific UCI or event-sanctioned equipment rules by visiting the registration page.

What logistics should I plan for the 24-hour event?

The 6-mile night loop ensures you stay within 3 miles of start-finish, minimizing navigation complexity in darkness and allowing easy access to support. The course features a large traffic circle and a 3-lane wide dead-end with only two simple turns, reducing cognitive load during fatigued hours. Plan for adequate lighting, night-riding visibility gear, and coordinate crew support at New Ebenezer Retreat Center.
