Frequently Asked Questions

What is the technical difficulty of the trails at The Dam Race?

The course at Arcadia features a mix of fast, flowy singletrack and technical rocky sections that will keep you on your toes. While there are options to navigate around the most challenging drops, riders should be prepared for roots, loose dirt, and sustained climbs.

Is this event suitable for beginner mountain bikers?

Absolutely - we love seeing new riders test their mettle! We offer specific categories for all skill levels, but we recommend having some experience riding off-road and being comfortable with changing trail conditions before signing up.

What kind of bike setup do you recommend for this terrain?

A modern mountain bike is essential for the varied elevation profile of the Arcadia trails. We recommend a bike with at least 100mm of travel and tires with aggressive side knobs to handle the loose, nature-connected terrain.

How should I prepare for the elevation profile of the course?

The course is known for short, punchy climbs that demand explosive power followed by technical descents. Focus your training on interval efforts and hill repeats to ensure your legs are ready for the constant transitions between climbing and descending.

What is the best way for spectators to view the race?

Spectators are welcome and encouraged to bring the energy! The best spots to cheer on riders are near the trailhead and at the designated technical feature zones, but please stay clear of the marked trail path at all times.

Where can I find the most up-to-date schedule and registration details?

Check the official event website for the latest details regarding the race-day schedule, parking instructions, and final registration deadlines. We update that page regularly to ensure you have the most current information for your ride.
